The American network has announced that it will now refer to the Iraq conflict as a "civil war"
In a statement last night its anchorman said:" NBC News has decided that the situation in Iraq, with armed, militarised factions fighting for their own political agendas, can now be characterised as civil war,After careful consideration, NBC News has decided a change in terminology is warranted."
Both the New York Times and the LA Times have been refering to it as a civil war for sometime now.
