Cameron a year on

The Observer reflects on the media treatment of David Cameron one year after his election as the leader of his party. In an article by Ned Tembo, his treatment at the hands of the Tory Press is discussed. The Telegraph in particular has been harsh with both Jeff Randall and Simon Heffer not holding back on the criticism. The latter refers refers to the Tory leader as a”vacuous and manipulative PR politician.

The other grandiose Tory paper the Mail has not held back either with Melanie Philips accusing the party as being “off brand New labour”

Despite Cameron’s continuing courting of Murdoch, there have been few if any signs of the mogul’s papers changing allegiance.
