LA Times to go fully 24/7

From the editors, Weblog, news that the LA Times is to become a fully integrated 24/7 news gathering and distribution on multimedia platforms:

The move means that the paper will devote the web for breaking a nd rolling news whilst its print version will cover stories in more depth.

According to the site

It has been official for some time, but with the LA Times publicly and explicitly moving around to the web-first model, it is now really official: print editions are no longer newspapers’ main priority (though they still bring in most of the ad revenue, and online growth doesn’t compensate for print losses). Now print and online are both considered as essential platforms for news distribution: journalists have to write their news for both media.
