Brian Cathcart's column in the New Statesman last week which I read on the train this morning coming into college recalled the words of Bernard Shaw. The renowned author and not forgetting journalist was reputed to have said
Journalists were people who could not tell the differnce between the end of the world and a bicycle accident
Which was quite apt as the news of the IPCC report on global warming hit the media recently.Whilst Cathcart noted that the Times,Guardian and Indy all led with the story, the Telegraph and the Mail prefered to attack the Blairs, the Express continued to crusade against inheritence taxes and the Redtops were more interested in Kylie's love life.
