Journalists need a spine transplant

A report on media channel.org about veteran CBS broadcaster Dan Rather recent speach.

In it he claims that journalists have "lost their guts" and that they have become "lapdogs to power rather than watchdogs."

In quite a wide ranging speach,Rather reflects on the fact that journalists have l;ost the faith of the people.Partly he says in America this is due to their lack of support for the Iraq war but he also maintains that the profession is now too close to those in power to ask the tough questions and act as a system of checks and balances.
