Ian Reeves discusses the article by Kurt Anderson in the New Yorker magazine which identifies the web video as” taking print newsrooms by storm.”
According to Reeves
“Newspapers are beginning to realise that that the can really score in the world of moving pictures by allowing their reporters, photographers and web development staff the freedom to get creative with video technology that is cheap and accessable enough for them to use widely.”
Newspapers are in a good position.Web 1.0 was primarily text based which hit print very hard whereas 2.0 is impacting far more on Tv.
Print journalists, used to faster on their feet and having to think alone, gives them an advantage.
As we have already seen,as Reeves continues the big groups sucha s Johnson Press,Newquest and Northclife are investing heavily in video
