Some good political debate

It was nice to see a good old fashioned political debate on Newsnight last night.

The French have shown us how the public can be engaged in political debate during the recent presidential elections.

The six candidates for the Labour deputy leadership were grilled from behind podiums by Jeremy Paxman

Some Highlights

Over Iraq-Both Hariett Harman and John Cruddas would not have voted for the war if they had known what they knew today.

The culture of spin-Again Harriet Harman wanted a future government that had" no spin no briefing and no secrets from Parliament"

Hazel Blears will be different to John Prescott because she is a women .

Hats off to Paxman who cut the waffle down and got some straight answers out of the candidates, and lets hope that at the next general election we finally get a three way televised debate.
