Iran counters Western bias

Apparently the Iranians are to launch a Tv service as an attempt to address their perceived imbalance in news.

According to President Ahmadinejad

“The message of media is the same as that of prophets. All efforts should be directed so that borders between ‘truth and false’, ’selfishness and divinity’, and ‘loving mankind and oppressing, threatening them’ could be clearly in front of world people’s eyes.”

The service will go head to head with CNN,BBC World,Al Jezeera and France 24.

According to its website its vision is:

1- To break the global media stranglehold of western outlets.
2- To bridge cultural divisions pragmatically.
3- To highlight the versatility and vitality of political and cultural differences, making up the human condition.

Of course one country where officially it wont be watched is Iran itself where satellite dishes are banned
