The Guardian's 100 most influential media people has attracted quite a lot of attention with its revamp and the emphasis on the new media.(Google Chief Exec Eric Schmidt coming in at No 1 and even Facebook getting a place on the chart)
I found it interesting how the newspaper moguls were dealt with, how much influence does the paper think they have?
Well Rupert Murdoch came in at No 2,a man who has tried to muscle in on the new media with his acquisition of My Space and reportedly working on a revamp of his empire in the face of changing media patterns.
The most important newspaper editor it seems is Paul Dacre (10)at the Mail, perhaps a sign of changing political affiliations in the Uk,whatever we think of his politics, the Mail is probably the most successful newspaper in the country at the moment and is challenging the Sun for readership.
The Sun's Rebecca Wade comes in at 23,with Robert Thomson at the Times at 26 and the Mirror's Richard Wallace at 30.
Of the other editors,
40.Alan Rushbridger
42.John Witherow
44.Will Lewis
45.Lionel Barber
51.Simon Kelner
53.Patience Wheatcroft
55.Roger Alton
87.Colin Myler
96.Kevin Maguire
99.Peter Wright
