BBC fed propoganda to youngsters claims the Mail

The Daily Mail is running a story this morning that claims that the BBC fed Al Qaeda propoganda to youngsters following the 9/11 attacks.

The report says that the newsround website

answered the question concerning 9/11, "Why did they do it" by saying: "The way America has got involved in conflicts in regions like the Middle East has made some people very angry, including a group called al Qaeda - who are widely thought to have been behind the attacks. After the public complained, the text was amended.

The claims are based on Dame Pauline Neville Jones former BBC governor and former head of Government's Joint Intelligence Committee.
