
Even Radio 4 presenters can lose it sometimes.
This morning the usually eloquent Charlotte Green had a fit of the giggles at the end of the 8.00 bulletin.She had read out a piece on the oldest known recording,a bad version of somebody singing a song in French.
The recording was played and as she read the final piece about the death of Oscar-winning screenwriter Abby Mann,she fell into a fit of giggles.
Presenter Ed Stourton later explained that someone had whispered in her ear that it sounded like bees buzzing in a bottle
