Sun launches new campaign for donor cards

This morning's Sun has a donor card on its front page, the paper

launches a vital life-saving service — by giving away an Organ Donor Card with every copy.
With a crucial nationwide shortage of donors, this initiative could help save lives — maybe even your OWN.
All you need to do is fill out the back of the blue and red card contained inside the TV magazine in Saturday's Sun newspaper and carry it with you at all times.

As part of the campaign to get everyone carrying donor cards, the paper reports

We even have fewer donors per million people than tiny Latvia.
There are 15million UK donors, so three million people buying today’s Sun and registering would boost that by 20 per cent.
About 7,000 people are waiting for kidney transplants but last year only 2,000 received them.
Another 300 are waiting for livers, 300 for lungs and 182 in need of kidney/pancreas swaps.
Others need hearts (88), pancreas (37) or heart/lung (18).
Among those listed for transplants are 300 children who may never live to adulthood

Its leader explaining

BRITAIN shames itself by allowing so many people to die for want of an organ transplant.
That is why The Sun makes history today by giving you an Organ Donor Card with every paper
