Blogging in the eye of the storm

Hats off to the blogger from the Times-Picayune of New Orleans who is blogging from a shrimp boat out in the storm near Lafitte.

Winds gusting up to 100 miles per hour have rousted captain Ronald "Jug" Dufrene from his slumber in the depths of the "Mister Jug," still tied firmly to the shoreline in Jean Lafitte.

The paper is also staying put having not evacuated the city unlike most of its readers.The paper though

has not delivered a print edition to readers since Saturday, is still having to adjust production and boost coverage

Dan Shea, managing editor/news, said the paper printed its regular Sunday edition – complete with a New Orleans Saints special preview section – on Saturday morning and distributed it to readers later that day just as the evacuation of the city began
