Letters from America to go online

Some good news for those who appreciate good journalism.

Alistair Cooke's complete letters from America are going online.

According to David Hughes

All 2,869 of Cooke's scripts - an estimated seven million words - are to be in-putted in the coming months by the University of East Anglia. This treasure trove of some of the finest journalism of the 20th century will give everyone access to a fabulous running history of the United States from1946 to 2004. In that 58 year stint, Cooke did not miss a deadline. He finally stopped broadcasting when he was 95 and died a few weeks later.
