Problems for Tiscali as talks with Sky fail

I am rather glad that last autumn I kicked my Tiscali broadband into touch as reports over the weekend appear to suggest that the company is teetering on the brink.

Reuters reports from Milan on Friday that

Italian Internet company Tiscali said it would ask bankers to suspend interest payments after its lengthy talks on UK assets with broadcaster BSkyB became "almost impossible" to continue.

Discussions had started with BSkyB back in the autumn but as these are seeming to be heading nowhere,Tiscali is expected to ask its bankers to defer its latest interest payment installment due in the next few days.
