It stems from the Sunday Times' culture section introduction of the citizen TV critic comments into their schedule ands cites this as one of the reasons why the Sunday Times should recruit these citizens on a permanent basis
Re Lindsay Duncan's appalling turn in Margaret (BBC2). She was repetitive, robotic and android-like - a sub-Harold Pinter leftie. Had she mixed herself up with her script for a coming Doctor Who? She was truly embarrassing. Best raspberry, surely?

I was very amused by both Andrew Collins' blog post and the comments in the Sunday Times column. Having been a TV critic myself, I think I can safely say the ST comments are a load of tosh and I'm inclined to agree with Collins' suspicion that most are made up. Especially given that I watched Lindsay Duncan's superb performance as Maggie in Margaret. Duncan is a known lefty but gave an incredibly nuanced and believable turn as the former PM - surely one of the defining moments of her career. (And just to be clear, I'm not a Tory, have no love for MT but recognise some good acting when I see it.)
