NBC v ABC It's Clinton v Obama over again

An interesting piece from across the water in the battle for news supremacy.

Hollywood writer Paul Gough claims that

ABC's "World News With Charles Gibson" and "NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams" are, in a way, the Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama of the evening newscast race.

At the moment its necka nd neck in the race to attract America's viewerw with a mear 200,000 viewers seperating the two on figures on 8m plus.

As Paul says

It has been a long time since the nightly news ratings have been so close for so long

Sarkozy walks out

And Nicholas Sarkozy became the latest in a long line of politicans to walk out of an nterview.

Unlike such luminaries as John Nott and Norman Tebbit, this concerned questions about his recent break up of his marriage.

According to ABC news

France's president abruptly ended a "60 Minutes" interview aimed at introducing him to U.S. audiences, dubbing it "stupid" and a "big mistake" and refusing to answer questions about his wife.

Express has a decent lead!!!!

It is rare that this blog congratulates the Express on its front page but this report may well have an element of truth in it.It appears to have come from a source in the US Police who are often more revealing in information to journalists than their British counterparts.
Thr report seems to arise from ABC news which was reporting that
"The London bomb plot allegedly planned by a cell of doctors failed early last Friday morning because a medical syringe used as part of the firing mechanism caused a malfunction, ABC News has learned.
According to nonclassified documents reviewed by ABC News, and confirmed by multiple sources, both mobile telephones initiated firing mechanisms rigged inside a Mercedes E 300 parked several yards from the front door of Tiger Tiger nightclub failed despite multiple calls to the cell phones designed to remotely trigger the devices.
