Labour I-phone app on the way

Apparently the Labour Party is to release an I-Phone app which according to Guido Fawkes,will

sync to local campaign events using GPS and postcode data, have a mobile version of their Virtual Phone Bank enabling a user to phone target voters plus have linkage into Facebook and Twitter.

Like films-here's an APP

If you are a film buff especially for those made in the UK,then there is an APP for you as the advert says.

Kat Barns reports that

VisitBritain have announced a free British Film Location App for iPhone and iPod touch is now available from the App Store. The app allows iPhone and iPod touch users to discover and photograph the most iconic British film locations in cinematic history. It also shows the most famous film scenes on Google maps and allows users to search by film title.

and the demand is there,according toJustin Reid, Head of Online, VisitBritain

“The VisitBritain message is clear, wherever you are in Britain you are never far from a British film location. This app will give visitors the opportunity to recreate their favourite scenes from some of our most iconic British films,Users can take pictures on location or make their own short films posting them on Facebook, Twitter or any of their social networking pages. 2010 is going to be a massive year for film tourism to Britain and we are making sure our digital campaigning is at the forefront of these events.”

The latest mobile offering?

You can now track your alcohol consumption courtesy of the NHS and an I-Phone app.

James Glick at the Next Web reports that

With accurate unit calculations, feedback and FAQ it’s a neat and well formed application for dissecting your alcohol intake during a period when it can be a difficult to take stock of how much your drinking.
It’s the first foray into the iPhone application world for the NHS and hopefully not the last with the ever useful NHS Direct surely a potential app itself in the future.

First the paywall now the pay app for the Spectator

The Spectator magazine is announcing plans to put its website behind a paywall and yesterday it further engrained itself into the content is not free model by launching a paid-for iPhone app which is also based on a subscription.

Paid Content reports that

The app, made by digital-edition magazine vendor Exact Editions (EE), costs £0.59. That price includes one week’s access to the current edition of the magazine in a miniaturised, page-turning, iPhone version of the real thing. But that’s not one-off payment - the payment must be renewed again and again for £0.59 a week. A month’s subscription is £2.39 and both options include access to five years of Spectator back issues.

I haven't got an I phone preferring rightly or wrongly my Blackberry so I haven't really caught on to this craze for Apps.

Nonetheless this latest offering caught my eye.

It is called Run Pee and according to Mashable

you’re watching a movie in the theater and need to take a restroom break, but you don’t want to miss the best part. The RunPee iPhone app has a timer letting you know when it’s safe to take a break, and gives you a summary of what you missed upon your return.
It also lets you know whether you should stay till the end of the credits, since movies like Iron Man include bonus footage afterwards. You start the timer when the movie begins, and safe break-times are scheduled throughout.
