Big Brother-the controversy extends

The row continues to escalate over Big Brother.the second question at PMQ'S came from Keith Vaz who was asking Tony Blai rto condone the behavoir of the contestants. The Prime Miniser couldnt possibly comment on the specifics as he hadn't seen the show but no the less condemned racism.
Meanwhile ,Gordon Brown who is visting India was asked about the controversy and there are reports of burning effegies on the streets.

This morning's press were equally anti BB with both the Mirror and the Sun leading on their front pages with stories condeming the racism.

The Mirror headlining-Evict them

The Sun headlining Jade Baddie

With nearly all the papers reporting on the record number of complaints that the show has had.

Germaine Greer writing in this morning's Guardian places the blame squarely at the show's producers:

"The brouhaha about racism in the Big Brother house is a smoke screen that conceals what is really vicious and corrupting about CBB. Plain, everyday, common or garden bullying supplies the motive force for everything that happens in the Big Brother house. Big Brother disorients the housemates and disrupts their perceptions so that they become literally unbalanced. They have nothing to gain but their fee for enduring this destructive process, and so far three housemates have decided that if they remained in the house they stood to lose more than they had to gain. Although their behaviour seemed irrational at the time, because they were forced "greatly to find quarrel in a straw", it was actually supremely rational. "

According to Steven Brook in media Guardian

"Has Channel 4 done anything to stop this? No. Of course, Channel 4 abhors racism, but secretly knows that Big Brother can't survive without media controversy. "
