According to Tim Luckhurst in Todays's Times,the BBC managed to blutr perhaps not for the first time the distinction between news and entertainment.
Luckhurst,a former BBC news executive suggests that
"His piece was so overwritten and bereft of analytical value that I believed I was watching satire. "
And continues to paint a classic picture
Opening with shots of the Arctic sun over baying huskies — “the sound echoes across the silence” — Saint Fergal presented a preposterous piece of theatre masquerading as journalism. The ostensible theme was global warming. But in the absence of any new evidence with which to justify the carbon that he burnt reaching the Arctic, Keane improvised lavishly.
