A rant too far

It probably wasn't the most sensible thing to do.

Mrs McCartney Mills appearing on national breakfast television and ranting about her treatment in the tabloids.Neither, probably was it sensible for her to compare herself to Kate McCann and the Tabloids have quckly had their revenge this morning.

Most of them appear to think that she is insane, the Telegraph reporting that

Looking directly at the camera as she spoke on GMTV, Lady McCartney said: "I have a box of evidence that's going to a certain person should anything happen to me, so if you top me off, it's still going to that person, and the truth will come out. There is so much fear from a certain party of the truth coming out that lots of things have been put out and done, so the police came round and said 'you have had serious death threats from an underground movement'.

Has she got a point. There is no doubt that certain elements of the press have gone for the jugular, the Sun in particular has consistently referred to her as Mucca.

I heard Roy Greenslade's interview on PM yesterday when his view was that of "those who live by the sword-die by the sword".He had on numerous occassions courted the press and had never taken any action against papers in the past through the press complaints council.

The news that her PR has stepped down after her appearance on GMTV simply backs up the view that she has gone a step too far.

I do have some sympathy with her predicament.Unfortunately her outburst will only make those relations that she so wants even more difficult to nuture
