The news of the departure of the Telegraph's Jonathan Isaby to work at the political blogsite Conservative home is perhaps a pointer towards the future direction of at least hard news reporting in new media.

The thought of an employee from an established quality daily moving to the blogosphere would have been unthinkable at one time.

Nobody watches the BBC for business reporting when we have CNBC, nobody reads Bloomberg for sports reporting.
