I thought it only right to comment on the front page of the Sun this morning.
If you havent seen it,the story concerns the World's fattest teenager
FOOD addict Georgia Davis told last night how eating is a drug as deadly as heroin for her — and has driven her weight to a life-threatening 33 STONES at 15.
A tragic story that may end up in further tragedy as the paper reports
Worried doctors have now told her she must lose 20 stones or she could die. But the NHS has ruled that the size 38 teenager is too young for gastric band surgery, slimming pills or gym membership.
Inside the paper gives a rundown of a typical days food intake
A typical daily intake includes processed ready-meals, several sandwiches, multi-packs of peanuts and crisps, sausages, pasties, chips, chocolate and chunks of cheese — washed down with litre bottles of Coke or pints of milk.
However there is a serious point to the article if you turn to the Sun says
She is an extreme example. But startling official figures show that a QUARTER of British kids aged 4 to 5 are obese or overweight. So are a THIRD of 10 to 11 year olds.
If nothing is done more than HALF of adults will be obese by 2050, putting a huge burden on the NHS.Avoiding this coming health catastrophe requires urgent action
Ok I fair point but is parading pictures of this teenager across it pages the best way to get its point across. As it says
OVERWEIGHT children have always been the butt of cruel jokesbut is this going to help the situation?
