News of a new hyperlocal experiment, this time up in the English Lakes.
Cumbrian news group has launched 15 hyperlocal sites,HERE is an example from Garnge Over Sands.
It is described as a
a new website being run by local people to keep natives and visitors alike in touch with events and opportunities in the town.
Our aim is to become a platform for arts and social groups. Anyone with something to shout about is welcome to get involved and use the site to promote their group.
How Do reports that Nick Turner, CN Group’s head of digital content development says that.
"We’re giving people open access, so for example, a theatre group can add information about performances."It allows us to go down a further level, to the allotments, where news is specific just to that community.
