Economic crisis=Social media investment

Businesses are to invest more in social media in the coming year in an effort to boost customer engagement, using blogging, community sites and user-generated content, according to research.

That's the findings of a report by publisher E-consultancy and digital agency cScape.

Amongst the reports highlights,51% of companies saw customer interaction as a way to negate the effects of the economic crisis and

45% of companies have a defined customer engagement strategy in place.
