The politics of the high school.

True?

The petty politics of every day relationships are exacerbated on the social web because we are making very limited assessments of people based on their written words. People seem quicker to judge, and harsher in their reactions without thinking about the real live human beings behind those little icons.

The words of Jon Buscall and I feel some truth in what he says.

It's all down to the ease of communication.Instant communication hidden behind the typeface means it is so much easier to react without thought, and to say things that we wouldn't say face to face or by telephone.

For me,email was the start of this.Just consider how many emails you have sent, which with retrospect you should have put in the delete box.

The impending decline of twitter

“I believe that in two years the Twitter brand will be in the same position as the Netscape brand is in now: Twitter will be credited with starting the revolution, and paving the road for followers. But at the same time, it will be pushed into a minor position in the market with other players taking the lead or, as is the case with Netscape, will no longer exist.”

The words of Yanvi Golan who doesn't believe that there is a long term future for twitter.

An early adapter overtaken by new entrants and eventually put out of its misery?

the blocks are being laid out, one by one – the building blocks for an open, distributed, decentralized Twitter-like experience, which is based on widely available and well known technologies instead of proprietary ones.
